Altrusa International of Portland Maine is sponsoring a book drive in collaboration with Books-A-Million to support their ABC Program (Altrusa, Books and Children). The ABC Program is their signature literacy project providing books for kindergarteners, as well as school libraries in the Greater Portland area. Volunteers visit classrooms to read stories and gift every child their own “forever book” to take home.

To lend a hand, buy a book at BAM! South Portland for donation to Altrusa of Portland from August 3rd to August 16th. All age books welcome; K–2 books are needed most. Please stop by!

Altrusans will be onsite for several weekends from 11AM–1:30PM to share what we do and answer questions.
