The event is being organized by the BAHN Campaign (BAHN – Bring America Home Now) in conjunction with the National Coalition for the Homeless. We are calling for common-sense approaches to creating more affordable housing here in Maine, Portland, and Southern Maine, as well as advocating for a dedicated warming shelter. We believe every county in Maine should be mandated to have a warming shelter with enough beds for its expected homeless population for any given year, based on the previous year’s PIT count.
