DESCRIPTION:Futures For Standardbreds (FFS)\, a Buxton-based non-profit org
 anization committed to retraining off-the-track Standardbreds as they tran
 sition from life on the track to life as pleasure horses\, is hosting a fu
 ndraiser at Funky Bow Brewery on Sunday\, September 28\, Noon-6 p.m.\n\n&
 nbsp\;\n\nThe event will feature raffle items\, desserts by donation\, and
  a visiting ambassador horse. There will also be food for purchase and liv
 e music by Funky Bow favorite Jeff Pellerin. Proceeds from the event help 
 off-set costs for board\, vet care\, training\, equipment and more.\n\n&n
 bsp\;\n\n“When horses retire from the racetrack\, they need a retirement
  plan\,” said Kristen Pretorius\, local farrier and FFS board member. "T
 hey have to retire at age 14\, and many live to be 30\, One of the best at
 tributes of this breed is their adaptability. They can learn to excel at t
 rail riding\, dressage\, western pleasure\, pleasure driving and more.”\
 n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHorses in the program undergo training under saddle and are 
 then matched to qualifying adoption applicants.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n“We hope h
