Larry Bellorín and Joe Troop bring a vibrant, border-crossing night of music to the Boothbay Opera House on Sept. 5 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Bellorín, from Monagas, Venezuela, is a legend of Llanera music. Troop, from North Carolina, is a Grammy-nominated bluegrass and old-time musician. Together, they blend Venezuelan and Appalachian folk traditions into something lively, unexpected, and full of heart.

Their duo performance features harp, banjo, cuatro, fiddle, maracas, guitar, upright bass, and whatever else they decide to bring along. The evening also includes storytelling about music, culture, and the ways songs can connect with social movements.

Advance discounted tickets are $25 and are available beginning June 1 through the Opera House box office at 207-633-5159. Regular tickets are $30.
